This tutorial, will guide you through the steps to set up your first project in PlanStudio. We'll cover the different options available to you as you setup and create your first clients, campuses, buildings, and floorplans.
Step 1: Adding a New Campus
Begin by adding a new campus to an existing or new client in your partnership. To create new campuses, Click the ADD CAMPUS button in the top right-hand corner of your Plan Manager.
Step 2: Locating the Campus
Follow the steps on screen and use the search bar in the top left corner to locate the correct site by entering a business name or address. Adjust the satellite view on screen so the blue pin points to the site / buildings you want to include on the campus. Ensure the entire site is roughly encapsulated within the displayed area. Use your mouse or touch screen to drag, zoom in, and zoom out. Click "Next" to move to the next step.
Step 3: Select Background Imagery
Here you can select what type of imagery you want to use for your site plan, for most plans 'USE SATTELITE LAYER' is the best option and will allow you to use the Default satellite images available.
If you want to draw your own site plan using the 'Scenery tools' you can start with the 'Capture Street Map' option which will draw in the basic site plan elements for you.
If you have your own georeferenced maps, you can upload them using the 'Import Georeferenced Image' option.
Step 4: Configure your Satellite imagery
In the next page, depending on your location, you may have the option to select different imagery providers, if not follow the steps on screen to rotate your imagery and align it to your screen.
Step 5: Campus Address and Creation
You will now be placed in the first floorplan of your first building, Here you can Name your Campus, make any manual changes required to the address, As well as name your building and Floor.
Note: the details you enter here may be used on your diagrams.
Step 6: Using the Plans Panel
You can now use the Plans Panel to add additional Floors to your building, additional Buildings to your campus, change the current plan you are viewing by clicking on the site plan or name of another floor, and edit the details of the campus or building / floor plan by clicking the
Plan Editor
Now, you're in the Plan Editor with the satellite image as the background. The Plan Editor is the primary plan drawing page in PlanStudio.
