Before you can start placing doors on a floorplan, PlanStudio requires you to first have all the walls already drawn, then add doors into the walls and the doors will then create their own opening. Selecting the Opening Tool and using the Doors option in the Sub Toolbar, you will then see all the different door types available on the right side.
Standard Hinged Doors
Starting off with our standard hinged doors, you will see the Tool Settings menu pops open where you can change the way we place our doors with the Drawing Mode. Using draw from side you add doors into walls by simply drawing a line from the hinge to handle on the side of the wall that you want the door to open into.
Most doors are have a standard fixed width of 0.82m.
When drawing toilet cubicle doors you can change the drawing mode to centre on a wall to make sure the doors are evenly spaced.
Other Hinged Doors
1 ½ hinged doors and double hinged door options are located in the Sub Toolbar.
Draw sliding doors from side they open, by default sliding doors will import as Cavity sliding doors, but by selecting one of the sliding doors we can easily change the properties of these doors in the inspector panel. This allows you to move the sliding panel from inside the wall to either side, as well as adding additional sliding panels or fixed panels. The same options apply for our double sliding doors as well, by using a combination of these properties you should be able to replicate any door sliding type required.
Bifold doors can be used in two different ways. Firstly, as an opening in a wall, and secondly as a room divider. By first turning off fixed width you can draw a bifold door as long as required. Starting by drawing a line off the wall, then use the extension nodes to edit the path of the door, as well as editing the appearance of the door by choosing how open we want it to appear as well as the panel width and thicknesses.
Draw roller doors by leaving off fixed width and using the last drawing mode and drawing from the centre. The final door option is an opening, acting like a doorway in a wall with the door removed.
Fire Rating Doors
You can select any drawn doors and change the swing mode to edit the door swings or change the side they open into. Use the Inspector panel to add a fire rating. Adding a fire rating will automatically add Fire doors to your Icon legend on your signs.
