Stairs like all the other drafting tools in PlanStudio are drawn along a centre line, after choosing the stairways option from the Opening Tool, the tool settings will open where you can adjust the width of stairways, as well as adjusting the step run, stairs will automatically snap to a wall when snapping is turned on.
Drawing Stairs
Start at the first stair in your staircase and draw along the wall, PlanStudio will automatically stop a set distance away from the next wall so that you can then select this extension node and turn your staircase to add in what will become a landing as the next segment. Then repeat again for the next run of stairs, PlanStudio will automatically stop and snap the final stair in line with the first one.
Stair Options
With the stairs now drawn, change to the Selection Tool and if required re-highlight the stairs to access the Inspector Panel where you can flip their direction and turn the handrails on or off.
Adding Landings & Ramps
To create a ramp in PlanStudio begin by drawing in each run as stairs, then again using the Stairway Section Mode, this time turning it first all to landings, then clicking each segment a 2nd time to convert it to a ramp.
