In this tutorial, we'll explore how to use the themes menu in the diagram preview to customize the style and appearance of objects in your diagrams. Whether you want to fine-tune the look of your floor plans, site plans, or both, the themes menu provides the flexibility to make these adjustments. Additionally, you'll learn how to manage theme tags and apply changes across your entire project.
The Themes Menu
In the themes menu, you have the option to override existing themes on each diagram, Start by choosing whether you want to apply a shared theme for your floor plans and site plans or separate them to edit each individually.
Below the theme override options, you'll find any theme tags you've already created for administrators. If you haven't created theme tags you will need to set these up first in the Administrators section.
Scroll through the list of objects or categories, and select the ones you want to customize, Tick the box next to the object or category to enable changes, this will open the drop-down menu to access theme editing options. You can adjust settings like icon scale, text size, and colors. Additionally, you can make objects transparent by setting typing 'transparent' into any color input.
Common Theme Edits
Some commonly edited themes include:
- Changing the scale of exit signs for plans that are zoomed out.
- Editing interior zone colors to make floorplans stand out more
- changing text scales to keep all text readable across the plan.
It's important to note that any changes you wish to apply across the entire project or permanently should be set in the administration themes menu.
Experiment with Themes
We recommend experimenting with different theme settings to achieve the desired look for your diagrams. The themes menu offers numerous customization options. Feel free to adjust themes to your preferences, you may want to setup different themes for different applications, such as a high contrast theme to make drafting easier, a more simplified theme for as built plans and a theme that matches your companies branding for your evacuation diagrams, as there are too many possibilities to cover comprehensively in this tutorial.
For more information on setting partnership-wide themes, please visit the themes menu in the administration section.
