In this tutorial, we will guide you through the process of using the cloning tool to copy settings and manual changes from one diagram to others on the same floor throughout your entire job. This feature is especially useful when working on multi-story buildings or projects with consistent layouts across different levels. By following these steps, you can save time and ensure uniformity in your evacuation diagrams.
Selecting the Source Sign
Before you begin, make sure you have already set up your initial diagram with the desired settings and made any necessary manual adjustments. Inside the cloning menu, you'll find options to choose the source sign you want to clone from.
Pick the floor from which you want to clone a sign. This is particularly helpful when dealing with multi-story buildings. Next, select the specific sign you wish to clone. It helps if the new sign closely matches the layout and settings on the sign you want to replicate.
Cloning Options
In the cloning menu, you have the flexibility to select which parts of the existing sign you want to clone across. We recommend cloning at least the "Framing" and "Margins" for the site plan area, as this maintains consistency in the project, For smaller floor plans, consider cloning the "Plan Area" as well to ensure that your floor plans and site plans are consistently sized and scaled across all diagrams.
Apart from framing and margins, you can also clone the layouts of all icons, excluding the "You Are Here" indicator since its position may vary. you can also Clone any adornments you've added to your sign and any changes you've made to the themes.
Multiple Cloning
You can clone multiple times on the same sign if needed, This allows you to selectively clone different elements since not all signs may be suitable to clone from, or you might want to go back later and apply changes across all the signs you have already configured.
To do this, simply turn off the options you don't want to clone and turn on the ones you do. For example, you can clone the plan area from one sign, the site plan area from another, and adornments and themes from additional signs.
