In this tutorial, we will walk you through the additional options available when to setup Zone Block plan or any other multi-floor diagram. Before you begin, ensure you have a template with Block Plan set as the diagram type under its settings. For more details, refer to Creating Multi-Floor Diagram Templates.
Step 1: Determine the Floor for the "You Are Here" Symbol
If your diagram requires a "You Are Here" symbol, make sure to create the diagram on the floor where this symbol needs to appear. Once you’ve placed the pin or created the standalone diagram, open the diagram preview page.
Step 2: Add Additional Floors
To add additional floors to your template Select Diagram Properties: From the toolbar.
Scroll down the side panel and select the + ADD FLOOR PLAN button.
Step 3: Choose Levels to Add
From the options available, select the levels you want to include in your diagram.
Step 4: Automatically Lay Out Plans
Switch to Framing in the toolbar.
Select Quick Framing to allow PlanStudio to arrange the plans in a grid automatically.
Step 5: Arrange the Plans
Click and drag to select how you would like the plans to be laid out. Each tile represents one floor plan.
Step 6: Zoom and Pan
With the plans arranged, you can zoom in or out and pan around each plan using your fingers on a touch screen device or the scroll wheel on a mouse.
Ensure the 'Keep Position and Zoom Aligned' option is enabled to maintain a consistent scale across all floors. If you need to edit a specific floor, use the Active Floorplan dropdown menu to switch to that floor.
Step 7: (Optional) Add a Legend for Your Zones
If you want to include a legend for your zones, navigate back to Diagram Properties and select Legend from the Alarm Zone Style dropdown menu.
Final Adjustments
Once all the plans are arranged and you’ve added your legend, feel free to edit the layouts, margins, or any other settings just as you would for a regular single-floor diagram. Use the Active Floorplan dropdown to change the current floor being edited as needed.
